Nebula Brooch
Nebula Brooch
The sweetest bar brooch she may have been used across the lapel of a collar. The three natural opals display a fiery showcase of colors. These have a baby blue background color with spits of pink, red, lavender, yellow, and orange. They are comfortably perched upon a magnificent set of prongs. All in spectacular condition in covetable and discontinued 15k gold.
Did you know that brooches were so extremely popular that as late as 1918 women were advised to wear them for functional reasons only? (Victorian brooches in South Africa - a reflection of European fashion) How stifling! It’s crazy to think that about 2 years later was when women’s right to vote was ratified.
I admire how tucked in the pin goes, a super practical in design so one reduces the chance of getting poked. For modern wear, I think she would be a great extender to a short chain. She can also be double duty and you can dangle on some dainty charms on her bar.
