Why JAS
Expression
Jewelry represents us.
Our emotions.
Our feelings.
Our expressions.
My drive is to select pieces that suits you exactly to your needs. We are multi-faceted people and jewelry needs to represent all of our sides. Antique and vintage jewelry pieces are truly one of a kind pieces. Just like you! Be fiercely unique.
Other reasons to buy estate jewelry:
- Preference to be efficiently priced.
- Already loved. The wear on the edges of gemstones and the marks on gold.
- Higher chances that it is a good quality piece. (along with good care!)
Sustainability
Despite the jewelry industry making a substantial contribution to our economy, there are significant issues. Mining has issues with social equity as well as the stress it has caused to our Mother Earth. The jewelry industry has a long runway to course correct to a sustainable one. Let's enjoy and cherish what's already been created.
A note on packaging:
I've taken special consideration to sustainable packaging. All of the mailers have recycled content. My protective packaging is made out of biodegradable material that can be recycled.
Transparency
All listings come with customized and practical care and clean advice. All jewelry (especially preowned!) will need their own specialized approach. These are expensive items and you got to cherish them while they are under your care.
Speaking of cost. In an attempt to demystify pricing, each listing will have a cost driver list with categories assessed next to them. You can see where your dollars are going for each item. This is my own perspective and also comparing these items to others that are out in the market. Please utilize these cost drivers as a supplement to your jewelry review and not the main decision rights (unless your jewelry purchases are purely financially driven).
Cost Drivers:
Gemstone type: how common is the gemstone itself?
Gold purity level: gold content
Gemstone quantity: how much or how large is the gemstone itself?
Gold weight: gold weight
Rarity: how common is this item?
Condition: what is the condition relative to its age?
